Mayfield park is one of our favorite places to go. There are wild peacocks and peahens perched on trees, a beautifully kept garden and a historic old house that you can peek in. Parking is super easy and there are 5 koi ponds where the kids will have fun trying to pet koi fish.

There are also picnic tables out front where you can enjoy a picnic lunch.

We didn't notice this during our first visit, but there's also an awesome hiking trail next to the parking lot. It leads to a small stream that you can easily cross by stepping on stepping stones. One of the trails also leads to Lake Austin.

We found an awesome teepee on our hike as well that the kids had lots of fun exploring.

It's the perfect trail for young kids, not too hard, full of adventure and very shaded.
